4-Link Rear Air Suspension:
(Part # 10006054)
Take the towing and ride quality to the next level with a Kelderman 4-Link Rear Air Suspension. If your leaf spring suspension can’t handle the heavy loads you’re putting behind your truck, then you need an upgrade to a full air suspension like our 4-Link Rear system. This kit includes upper and lower airbag mounts, adjustable trailing arms, trailing arm mounts, frame mounts, adjustable panhard bar, panhard bar mount, lower axle clamps, accumulator tanks, upgraded rear sway bar assembly, air line, Schrader valves, fittings, and all necessary hardware for installation on your Silverado or Sierra. By putting those prehistoric leaf springs in the trash, you’ve given your truck a boost in towing/payload capacity, as well as improved ride quality. A full air suspension will take the harsh, jarring bounces out of your rear suspension when traveling down the road. You can pair this kit with one of our optional, self-leveling air control packages to make your truck’s rear suspension automatically adjust to the weight of your trailers. Simply back up to your trailer and hook it up to your truck, the rear suspension will squat before sensing the weight of whatever you’re towing or hauling, and return back to the original ‘stock ride height’. These optional control systems will also allow you to drop the rear suspension approximately 4″ to help you hook up to trailers or load items in the bed. This would be the exact same functionality you would see on a semi-tractor. Take your truck’s ride and capability from bad/average to great with the addition of a Kelderman 4-Link Rear Air Suspension.
Optional Air Control Systems:
The base version of this rear air suspension system will be in a ‘manual fill’ package. This provides you with the necessary amount of air line, fittings, and Schrader valves to inflate and deflate the suspension like you would a tire. Several air control systems are available, so let’s go through some popular options.
Mechanical, Self-Leveling Air Control System (Part # SLKD2WD + HCVLK’s):
This is the most common air control system for any and all of our full air suspension products. It includes a 100% duty cycle VIAIR air compressor, a 3-gallon air tank, two mechanical height control valves, height control valve linkages, (2) dump valves, an air dryer, plus all wiring, fittings, and connections for installation. The air compressor is contained within a weather-resistant enclosure to protect the vital elements of the control system.
An in-cab control panel is provided, allowing you to control the ON/OFF power to the air compressor and a dump switch to activate the rear dump valve option. You can also use your factory auxiliary/upfitter switch panel for these two switches in place of the Kelderman control panel. This configuration allows the rear suspension to automatically adjust the pressure within the airbags to maintain the designed ‘ride height’ of the suspension. As soon as you hook up to a trailer, the mechanical height control valves move with the suspension’s adjustment and pull air from the onboard air tank to inflate back to the ‘ride height’ position. It will also manually bleed off air pressure when you’re unloading weight, unhooking a trailer, etc. The dump valves are designed for use with the rear air suspension and allow you to flip a switch, deflate the rear suspension down approximately 4″, and pull right out from under your trailer. The onboard air dryer removes moisture from the system periodically to prevent damage to components and remain operational in cold temperatures and climates.
Mechanical, Self-Leveling Air Control System – Dual Compressor & Tank (Part # 30664 + HCVLK’s):
Want more air for your air suspension? This air control system is identical to the system referenced above, but with an additional air compressor and air tank. We tend to see this more with serious work truck applications, fleet use, trucks running at MAX GVWR, or those that plan to regularly raise & lower the rear air suspension. The additional air compressor and tank provide a quicker recovery time and make sure plenty of air is available for raising & lowering the suspension and any necessary ride height adjustments.
NOTE: The installation of this kit with the optional Mechanical, Self-Leveling Air Control System may require the removal of the factory spare tire.
NOTE: Factory Multimatic DSSV dampers found on ZR2 and AT4X/AEV models cannot be reused with this air suspension system.
