“Stomper” Truck Conversion

The Stomper builds started as a nod to the ‘Stomper’ trucks of the past. While things like Hot Wheels, monster trucks, and other toys stand the test of time, we were drawn to the design of the Stomper toy trucks from the 1980’s.

The headache rack was a crucial detail.

We designed and fabricated this headache rack right in our Iowa headquarters. Featuring front and rear Rigid lights, it gives us the retro look we needed. We feel the headache rack is truly the signature piece of the build. And that’s saying a lot, given just HOW much we did to the truck.

Powder-coated textured black for a rugged, durable finish and appearance, this rack begins at the back of the cab and extends down to the end of the custom-length pickup bed. The pickup bed is fully functional and also features our own custom-built spare tire mount to house a 5th wheel and tire in case you need it.

The Stomper is built to go beyond just good looks and delivers real-world capability where it matters most.

At its core is a one-of-a-kind 8’3″ pickup bed, larger than typical “factory-style” builds ­designed for increased usability, storage, and flexibility in real-world applications.

Rather than limiting the build to a single configuration, The Stomper can also be equipped with flatbeds or other custom body options to match the specific needs of each customer.

This is OEM Plus-built beyond factory limitations, designed for how the truck is actually used.

The flexibility of this build allows you to have a camping oasis on the weekends with an out-of-this-world daily driver when you need it.

All Kelderman – Stomper builds feature our 6″ air suspension with an adjustable ride height from approximately 1″ to 9″.

Our air suspension system provides load leveling, improved ride quality, and full adjustability at all four corners­ making it easier to get in and out, level the truck at a campsite, or hook up to trailers.

Built on proven air ride technology used in heavy-duty applications for decades, with no required maintenance schedules or specialized service needs.

These lift kits include a hydraulic steering assist from Precision Steering Components (PSC). This hydraulic assist allows you to drive the truck effortlessly, even with the robust wheel and tire package.

Custom-valved shocks built by our partners at Raptor Shocks in Minnesota are tuned specifically for this F-550 Overland application.

The Stomper is equipped with a super single wheel and tire setup designed to improve capability, durability, and overall performance in real-world conditions.

We use 20″ wheels from Wehring Motor Company, paired with 365/80R20 Continental MPT 81 tires. This combination increases load capacity while reducing rolling resistance compared to traditional dual rear wheels.

The MPT 81 tire is engineered for both on-road and off-road performance, delivering excellent traction, puncture resistance, and stability across a wide range of terrain.

The result is a more capable, more efficient setup that supports the Stomper’s focus on real-world usability—whether on the highway, at a jobsite, or off the grid

The Kelderman Alpha Series Front Bumper is designed for both protection and functionality, with options for a WARN 16,500 lb. winch or a 20″ integrated light bar.

Additional lighting includes (4) 4″ Rigid Industries E-Series lights in the outer wings for improved visibility when maneuvering, backing up, or working around trailers. The Delta Series Rear Bumper, custom designed for a custom pickup bed conversion, also features (2) 4″ Rigid E-Series lights.

An optional full grille guard is equipped with a 30″ Rigid Industries Connect light bar for extended forward lighting in low-visibility conditions. The all-new Connect light bar provides both ‘Spot + ‘Drive’ light beam patterns to deliver balanced forward light projection, wide coverage, and Rigid’s trusted performance.

A functional rear setup includes the Kelderman Delta Series Rear Bumper and available Monster Hooks Reaper recovery shackles. These fully machined aluminum hooks provide a safe towing/recovery point (even though you won’t need that…)

Our signature headache rack configurations include a 40″ Rigid Industries Connect light bar facing the front of the truck, along with rear-facing Rigid Industries SR-Series lighting to illuminate the bed and surrounding work area.

We wanted the Stomper to do it all, so we added a do-it-all receiver hitch. Our custom-built 3.0″ hitch receiver allows you to use this truck, however you need it. A gooseneck or 5th wheel hitch option is also available.

Additional features such as AMP Research power steps and custom fender flares complete the build, combining convenience, durability, and a refined, purpose-built appearance.
