Product Details
4-Link Rear Air Suspension:
(Part # 10007890, Stock Height)
(Part # 10007891, Lowering Kit)
Your Ram Chassis Cab comes with a large leaf spring pack that is designed to carry a large amount of weight, but doesn’t do anything to help the comfort of the driver. Why not improve both with a 4-Link Rear Air Suspension from Kelderman? By removing the factory leaf springs from the frame, Kelderman’s 4-Link Rear setup places four industrial-strength air bags (two per side) on the outside of the frame to allow for a smoother ride and unmatched carrying capacity.
By adding an optional, self-leveling air control system, your Ram will automatically add air pressure to the system, as needed, so it never sag under a heavy load.
Optional Air Control Systems:
The base version of this air suspension system will be in a ‘manual fill’ package. This provides you with the necessary amount of air line, fittings, and Schrader valves to inflate and deflate the suspension like you would a tire. Several air control systems are available, so let’s go through some popular options.
Mechanical, Self-Leveling Air Control System (Part # SLKD2WD)
This is the most common air control system for any and all of our full air suspension products. It includes a 100% duty cycle VIAIR air compressor, a 3-gallon air tank, two mechanical height control valves, height control valve linkages, (2) dump valves, an air dryer, plus all wiring, fittings, and connections for installation. The air compressor is contained within a weather-resistant enclosure to protect the vital elements of the control system.
An in-cab control panel is provided, allowing you to control the ON/OFF power to the air compressor and a dump switch to activate the rear dump valve option. You can also use your factory auxiliary/upfitter switch panel for these two switches in place of the Kelderman control panel. This configuration allows the suspension to automatically adjust the pressure within the airbags to maintain the designed ‘ride height’ of the suspension. As soon as you hook up to a trailer, the mechanical height control valves move with the suspension’s adjustment and pull air from the onboard air tank to inflate back to the ‘ride height’ position. It will also manually bleed off air pressure when you’re unloading weight, unhooking a trailer, etc. The dump valves are designed for use with the rear air suspension and allow you to flip a switch, deflate the rear suspension down approximately 4″, and pull right out from under your trailer. The onboard air dryer removes moisture from the system periodically to prevent damage to components and remain operational in cold temperatures and climates.
These kits are perfect for service trucks, ambulances, tow trucks, and many industries! With air suspension instead of heavy leaf springs, the truck will ride better than you ever thought possible.
