4-Link Rear Air Suspension:

(Part # 10004016)

The Ford F-450 and F-550 Chassis Cab trucks are everywhere. They are used as ambulances, service trucks, tow trucks, and more. Despite their popularity, the factory suspension can often leave a lot to be desired in terms of capability and ride comfort. That is why Kelderman introduced the 4-Link Rear Air Suspension for Ford F-450/550 Chassis Cab vehicles. Our strong 4-link suspension design completely removes the factory leaf spring suspension in favor of a full air ride suspension. Kelderman’s design allows for the use of four industrial-strength air bags (two per side) to increase payload & towing capacity, as well as improve the ride quality.

If you spend a lot of time in these trucks, you certainly know how rough they can be when traveling down the road. You don’t have to suffer thanks anymore to a Kelderman air suspension system. By eliminating the stiff leaf spring suspension, you will no longer have a harsh, rigid ride quality. Enjoy the benefits of air suspension when using one of our optional, self-leveling air control packages

Optional Air Control Systems:

The base version of this air suspension system will be in a ‘manual fill’ package. This provides you with the necessary amount of air line, fittings, and Schrader valves to inflate and deflate the suspension like you would a tire. Several air control systems are available, so let’s go through some popular options.

Mechanical, Self-Leveling Air Control System (Part # SLKD2WD)

This is the most common air control system for any and all of our full air suspension products. It includes a 100% duty cycle VIAIR air compressor, a 3-gallon air tank, two mechanical height control valves, height control valve linkages, (2) dump valves, an air dryer, plus all wiring, fittings, and connections for installation. The air compressor is contained within a weather-resistant enclosure to protect the vital elements of the control system.

An in-cab control panel is provided, allowing you to control the ON/OFF power to the air compressor and a dump switch to activate the rear dump valve option. You can also use your factory auxiliary/upfitter switch panel for these two switches in place of the Kelderman control panel. This configuration allows the suspension to automatically adjust the pressure within the airbags to maintain the designed ‘ride height’ of the suspension. As soon as you hook up to a trailer, the mechanical height control valves move with the suspension’s adjustment and pull air from the onboard air tank to inflate back to the ‘ride height’ position. It will also manually bleed off air pressure when you’re unloading weight, unhooking a trailer, etc. The dump valves are designed for use with the rear air suspension and allow you to flip a switch, deflate the rear suspension down approximately 4″, and pull right out from under your trailer. The onboard air dryer removes moisture from the system periodically to prevent damage to components and remain operational in cold temperatures and climates.

Take your work truck to the next level with a Kelderman 4-Link Rear Air Suspension System!
