Kelderman’s unique 2-Stage Rear Air Suspension design can be used on many different applications, including the Ford F53 motorhome chassis. This system bolts to the vehicle frame attaches to the rear leaf spring pack. The rear shackle hanger is removed in the process of installation and the rear leaf spring bolt to our air suspension framework. This ‘floating’ leaf sping and air suspension combination provides an additional 3-4″ of air suspension travel over the stock suspension. This provides an improved ride quality for the F53 motorhome as the harsh bumps of the roads are absorbed first by the air suspension before being transferred onto the leaf springs. This addition can help remove the jarring bumps of the road that tend to tear up your motorhome’s interior over time. The standard air suspension kit will include all components for installation including our ‘manual fill’ air control system. This will include air line and a Schrader valve to inflate the suspension manually using an external air compressor and/or air tank. This is the most common choice for air management on a rear air suspension setup as there is not a frequent change in weight on a motorhome’s rear suspension unless you tow a trailer with the unit. If you choose to add the very popular 2-Stage Front Air Suspension System to your F53 motorhome, several air control packages would be available and recommended at that point. It is important to note that the 2-Stage Rear Air Suspension System is not compatible with all models. Many motorhomes have different configurations of storage cabinets, landing jacks, water lines, gas lines, etc. that may interfere with installation. We would recommend inspecting your motorhome and comparing it to the provided photos and diagrams for possible clearance issues.
