The annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas, NV lets builders and manufacturers showcase their latest and greatest creations. It's where many companies debut products or custom truck builders debut their latest build. Tim Nicolau Designs in Ceres, CA has a long history of building some of the nicest show trucks in the country including several featured on our site here. When Tim Nicolau decided he want to build an outdoor themed truck, everyone knew it was going to be done to a level that no other builder had done before.
The base for the project was a 2012 Ram 2500 Crew Cab 4x4 with the legendary Cummins engine. Tim picked one of his favorite products, the Kelderman 5-6" Air Suspension Lift Kit, to provide more clearance for the truck when used on hunts. An electronic air control system provides the ability for the truck to raise/lower to approximately a 1" lift kit when deflated or up to 9" when the Ram needs a bit more clearance off the pavement. CamoWraps.com set him up with a complete vinyl wrap in a Realtree Max 4 camo pattern to add to the 'Outdoorsman' theme while also protecting the factory paint. One of the things in abundance on this truck is the Realtree camo pattern. Tim sent the majority of the suspension components to Dynamic Finishes in Lees Summit, Missouri to get the Realtree pattern hydrodipped on the lift kit, wheel accents, interior pieces, light bar housings, and more. Almost as plentiful as camouflage on this Ram is Rigid Industries lighting. The truck has two light bars on the Fab Fours front bumper, rock lights hidden carefully in the wheel wells , as well as on the frame, mounted on the Rhino Rack cargo rack above the cab, on the Backbone Industries rack, and hidden in the rear Fab Fours bumper as well. To keep all hunting gear secured when necessary, Tim installed a custom Truck Vault storage system that locks to protect guns, gear, and more. To make sure out of state trips weren't an issue for the lifted Ram, a custom Katzkin leather interior was added to upgrade from the factory cloth and it flows surprisingly well with the factory interior trim that escaped from the hydrodipper. A Transfer Flow 52 gallon fuel tank served as an upgrade for the smaller, factory tank and a 40 gallon Transfer Flow toolbox/refueling station in the bed provides fuel for an ATV's or side by sides Tim brings along. Once the hunt is on, 20x12 American Force Faceplate wheels and 35x12.50R20 Toyo Open Country M/T tires make sure Tim can get any spot off the beaten path that he needs. What Tim wanted was a capable truck that hunters across the world would want parked in the drive. He accomplished that goal and then some as the camo Ram was one of the best creations at SEMA that year.
