Scrolling through our Project Vehicles section and website, you may come across 'Desperado', a 2012 Ram 3500 decked out in Laramie Longhorn Trim along with chrome and copper plated suspension. Yes...real copper plating. That dually was detailed to the max and was one of the most talked about vehicles at the 2012 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Built by Tim Nicolau Designs of Ceres, CA, the truck landed on the cover of Truckin' Magazine shortly after the show and was one of the most talked about custom trucks on the show scene.
How can you manage to top a copper plated Cummins dually on a 8-10" Kelderman 4-Link Air Suspension Lift Kit? Two words: Big $penda. After Desperado had it's day in the sun, Tim purchased a 2013 Ram 3500 SRW Crew Cab Long Box truck and started with the same platform, a Kelderman 8-10" lift kit. TND removed the axles and the entire suspension of the heavy duty Ram and what took it's place was an unremarkable combination of chrome and 24kt gold.
The truck also features a pile of parts from other manufacturers including 24x14 American Force Nightmare Faceplate wheels, 40x15.50R24 Toyo Open Country M/T tires, Royalty Core grile insert, Fab Fours Premium front and rear bumpers, MBRP polished exhaust, custom headlights from Plain an Simple by Design, custom headache rack from Backbone Industries, dual 50" E-series light bars from Rigid Industries on the roof, D2 Duallys in the custom headlights, as well as in the rear bumper.
This truck was built to show exactly how much attention you can pay to the details in building a truck. Facing a difficult task of topping his previous build, Tim Nicolau Designs ended up with a finished product that can truly be classified as rolling art.
