Oskaloosa, IA (March 19, 2015) – Three years ago TONKA/Funrise approached Jeff Kelderman, Vice President of Kelderman Air Suspension Systems, to help build a real life truck to match the TONKA truck toy they had for sale. Having been a big fan of the toys as a kid, it was a natural to participate in building a matching full size Ford F150 TONKA replica. “I played with these toys as a kid and it was a labor of love to finally see the truck we envisioned come to life,” he said. This is a direct replica of the truck that debuted at the 2013 SEMA Show built for TONKA.  On the vehicle, all of the Kelderman suspension components are powder coated yellow to draw attention to the upgrades, parts that any truck fan can purchase online or through the Kelderman catalog. The TONKA brand, under license from Hasbro, Inc., and Funrise Toys joined forces with some of the most influential companies and manufacturers in the vehicle industry (Kelderman, Galpin Auto Sports (GAS), Highway Products, Banks Power, Toyo Tires, American Force, Bushwacker, Fab-Fours, Warn, JL Audio, Kenwood, and Katzkin) to create the ultimate, larger than life TONKA Truck!  Appropriately named the TONKA T-Rex, in part because of its sheer size and dominating appearance, this custom truck stands 10ft high when fully lifted and weighs an astonishing 10,000 pounds. The truck also starred in Transformer: Age of Extinction movie.Continued Kelderman, “Believe it or not, when I was a kid I would buy both a toy tractor and the toy truck and put the oversized tractor wheels on the truck. I would go out in my dad’s shop and take the wheels off the tractor and have the guys in the shop build little adaptors so they would bolt on. I guess that was shades of where I would be later in life.  So when I buy TONKA trucks [for my kids] they already have the big wheels on them. Now all my modification skills are saved for the big toys!”Funrise Toys is adding to its iconic line of TONKA toy vehicles with the release of the TONKA T-Rex, available in a Steel version, a Lights & Sounds version and a Die Cast version.  The toys can be purchased at toy stores like ToyRUs®, retailers such as Wal-Mart® and Target® and online at Amazon.com®Kelderman Air Suspension Systems, with over 40 years of operation, offers a full line of air suspension systems for light and medium duty trucks, motor coaches and trailers, as well as agricultural equipment.
