Steve Lemons' 2014 Ram 3500

Steve Lemons' 2014 Ram 3500

Steve Lemons of Michigan sent this 2014 Ram 3500 DRW Laramie Longhorn truck with one goal in mind: a clean looking build that didn't ride like a lifted truck. Steve still had plans of towing and hauling with this truck, which is one thing that made him interested in the air suspension systems from Kelderman. Steve ordered this truck at the Ram dealer and had it shipped directly to Kelderman using our factory-direct Chrysler 'ship to' number. With plastic still protecting the interior of this luxurious Longhorn, the team at Kelderman began giving it a full makeover. Factory coil and leaf springs were removed and replaced with an all-new 5-6" Air Suspension lift kit. The front system retains the big Ram's radius arm front suspension and now has industrial strenght air bags resting in the factory spring buckets. Fox shocks help tune the ride so this dually rides comfortably down the road.

Once the front was buttoned up, the rear was torn apart and it received a full 4-Link Rear Air Supsension setup complete with trailing arms, panhard bar and crossmember, as well as a large sway bar to help when the Ram is loaded. The ESLK4-TPAD control setup utilizes dual Viair compressors and dual 3 gallon tanks to give the truck plenty of oxygen when it needs to adjust heights. The system allows for the driver to take the truck from it's 5-6" ride height all the way down to a 1" lift to make it easy for people to climb in the tall Cummins pickup. With just a push of a button, the Ram can go back to it's 5-6" ride height or up to a 10" lift!

While Steve felt the exterior of the truck in Longhorn trim provided the look he was after, the factory wheels and tires just weren't up to par. Kelderman set him up for 22" American Force Independence wheels and 325/50R22 (35") Nitto Terra Grappler tires. One thing Steve requested was for the truck not to run the typical dually wheel up front. American Force built a special direct bolt-on front wheel to allow for the front wheel to have a slight dish. The combination of wheels, tires and an air suspension lift kit ended up being just right. Steve saw his truck for the first time after the Kelderman team had transformed it from an average Ram into one of the best looking trucks in Michigan.
